Sp.Corner: Cartoon character Hector teaches children about the danger of online paedophiles

Child abuse experts are warning children as young as 5 to teach them about the dangers of the internet and especially online paedophiles, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre is going to introduce children to an animation series called; Hector’s World. It’s an animation about a dolphin called Hector, he is going to warn children about dangers on the internet. It’s a series of five animations with Hector and his friends and they will explain issues such as personal information and wether to hand it out or not, trustworthiness, making positive choices online and how to be open with an adult the children trust when they use the internet. Jim Gamble, chief executive of the child protection centre, said: “It is never too early to start giving children ‘safety first’ messages.”

Informing young children through a cartoon, I think this a very good idea. These days even the youngest children use the computer and internet. In my opinion, the sooner children know what kind of dangers there are online the better… these days a lot of cartoons are informative, just think of Dora, children love that and learn from it. So why not use the same means for these kind of things. The organization is not only focusing on the children but also on the offenders, so they cover it from both ends. I think it is a GREAT idea

The ins and outs of real women and their curves

When Princess Beatrice stepped out of a beautiful blue ocean in the Caribbean last week wearing only a blue bikini and an hourglass figure, not everybody reacted to happy to it. The pictures that where taken caused quit a few reactions, a lot of comments were made by the Daily Mail, comments like, "someone buy the poor girl a sarong". But apparently the Daily Mail is behind the times old trends are out and new trends are in; BOYISH IS SO OVER. Even high fashionistas are into curvy/ fuller women, women with meat on there bones, hourglass figures, and women that are not as skinny as a stick. Princess Beatrice, who has proven that it is possible to be royal, good-looking, and that while she is not al that skinny. She is a good example of the new trend. Women don’t always have to be super skinny to be pretty, even with a bit of a fuller figure you can look great.

So the Daily Mail was making fun of the “fat” girl and is now getting comments from fellow newspaper The Independent. I must support The Independent on this one! If the girl wants to wear a bikini and she does not have a supermodel-figure that is her choice and the rest of the world should be more concerned with real problems!!! But apparently super-skinny is a thing of the past because curves are happily welcomed in the fashion world again. The Roland Mouret's Galaxy and Moon dresses are extremely popular these days. .
